Successful Healthy Health Fair

Chef Dana prepared awesome foods for her demonstration to show us how to use what's fresh at the market.  She grilled potatoes with olive oil and salt, made a fresh kale salad using Bragg, sesame oil and lemon.  She grilled plums and white peaches and topped them with thinly sliced Asian pears.  All chosen from our farmers on that day.  Our acupuncturist, Ching Liu, gave short consultations and did some work on Steve's foot which has been bothering him for over 10 months.  He had immediate relief and will be seeing Ching Liu at his office, The Golden Needle Wellness, on Venice Blvd.  The ladies from Smyrna were on hand to give blood pressure and blood sugar screenings and prepare fresh vegetable juices for sampling.  The juices were delicious and nutritious.  Thanks you all for coming out and supporting the market.

Wow, what a busy day at the market!

Eggs, sold out, watermelons, sold out, strawberries, sold out, corn sold out.  You've found us, you like us, and you're coming back!  Thank you!  We're seeing some early fall goodies at the market.  We had apples, pears, Japanese sweet potatoes, yams, and sweet potatoes.

Okay, so it works! There have been no previous blogs due to user error, user me, error.

Our crepe lady and Tene's gourmet are taking a break this Labor Day, but all the farmers, including the egg guy will be back at the market on Sunday.  Have you tried Mom's specialty foods, he sells the pita, hummus and other middle eastern goodies.  I tried for the first time something called Italian Caponata, it was awesome.  He sells his stuff 3 items for $10.00.  The chips are almost too good.

The Farmers Market will be open Labor Day Sunday September 5th

Just checking to see if this blogger thingy works!
